White Sands National Monument
The White Sands webpage starts out with this paragraph, “Rising from the heart of the Tularosa Basin is one of the world's great natural wonders - the glistening white sands of New Mexico. Here, great wave-like dunes of gypsum sand have engulfed 275 square miles of desert and created the world's largest gypsum dune field. “
could not have said it better myself. And we could not have asked for better weather. It was warm, but rain had recently fallen. The clouds in the sky made for some great photo opportunities. The gypsum sand sure does make for some fun images. It looked a lot like snow. Some folks even had sleds to go down the dunes. All seemed to be having a good time. We were included in that.
We spent a good portion of the day exploring the dunes and photographing the things we saw. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Buenos noches,
These are gorgeous, TC. You've captured the mystery and strangeness of White Sands in every image. I'm planning a return trip to these photos so that I can study each one more thoroughly.
I really want to go sledding on the dunes!
Con amor,
Athena
Very nice, inspiring shots. They put my little point-n-shoot camera pictures to shame :)
Oh my gosh, TC! Some of my favorite shots for sure. Just beautiful!
Once again, TC, you have done a master's job of capturing the magic of a time and place. Thank you for sharing...
Blessings,
Mary Lynn
