Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
One of our favorite places to visit in the Tucson
area is the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
It is a great place to visit and take friends to. It helps that we have been members since
returning to the area.
Of course there are pictures of snakes...
“The mission of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is
to inspire people to live in harmony with the natural world by fostering love,
appreciation, and understanding of the Sonoran Desert.”
This place is really a living museum, zoo, and
more. They conduct all kinds of research
for animals, plants, and the environment.
There are also several classes and tours that can be taken. And they have a large variety of cactus and
succulents from all over the Sonoran Desert and beyond. They have recently added an aquarium area
with freshwater and saltwater tanks.
“The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a 98-acre museum
and zoo founded in 1952 and located in Tucson, Arizona. It contains a museum
and two miles of walking paths on 21 acres of this property, and is one of the
most visited attractions in Tucson.”

Garden eels
We recently visited during the heat of a summer
day. We were able to mix the indoor
air-conditioned attractions with outdoor walking. It was hard to believe that we made it for
about four hours. There is always
something to see here. Hope you enjoy
the images from our recent visit.

Great fun, and great detail on those snake photos. Wow. And mighty fine mineral work. Good stuff, thanks for sharing. And nice "ending"!

Thanks Carolyn... At least the whole blog was not snakes. I would have been fine with that, but not others. :)
I did really enjoy the photos-especially the garden eels. Thanks. I never heard of garden eels before-I guess it's not too late to learn something new....
